FAQ

What is A Chiropractic adjustment?

Chiropractic adjustment, also called spinal manipulation, is a procedure used by DCs to correct misalignments of the vertebrae of your spine. Untreated, these misalignments can interfere with neurological communication between your brain, tissues and organs.

What happens when you have a Chiropractic adjustment?

After identifying your condition via examination and testing, and determining that spinal adjustment is the best treatment for you, your DC will position your body so that only the affected area is isolated. Next, your DC will manipulate the joint, freeing it from its “stuck” position. In restoring the joint’s natural movement, inflammation and pain are reduced and your tissues begin to heal.

Is it true that there’s a popping sound during an adjustment?

Yes. This harmless popping sound occurs when gas bubbles in the fluid surrounding the joint are released during the procedure.

Does this procedure hurt?

Only rarely does a Chiropractic adjustment cause mild discomfort. You should feel a great sense of relief.

What are some conditions commonly treated by Chiropractors?

Various types of headaches, neck pain and tension, lower back pain, radiating pain sensation, numbness or tingling in extremities, carpal tunnel syndrome, sprains/strains, muscle spasms, pinched nerve, sciatica, herniated discs, scoliosis, poor posture, extremity pain, just to name a few. It is best to discuss all of your symptoms with your Chiropractor so he or she can have a complete health history.

Is Chiropractic care safe for children?

Yes. Given that substantial spinal stress may occur at birth, concerned parents consult Chiropractors for a newborn vertebral subluxation exam. When needed an adapted procedure is performed on the child’s spine. Quite a few childhood health issues can be attributed to the spine. Many moms and dads are convinced that their kids stay healthier because of Chiropractic adjustments.

What if I’m pregnant?

Pregnant women find visiting a Chiropractor helps their pregnancy and can help make delivery easier. As always the adjustment methods are tailored to each patient’s particular needs.

Should I visit a Chiropractor?

Yes. If you are experiencing any of the conditions listed above or if you just want to discuss how to live a healthier lifestyle, consult with a Chiropractor.

Chiropractors who are out of network with Medicare, under law, are not allowed to treat Medicare recipients. We know that this may cause some confusion or aggravation, however we must remain compliant with current law.
